The Ypsi 24-Hour Film Shootout is a community event for the filmmakers of Michigan to create a short film and share it in a community screening that brings together filmmakers and film lovers in a way that engages diverse audiences through the art of film and video.
Filmmakers have an opportunity to create a short movie in 24 hours that will require a list of elements to be included in the movie according to the Official Ypsi 24-Hour Shootout Rules & Regulations.
Each filmmaking team will submit an online registration after the official “Call for Films” is issued on September 1, 2012, and the registration period will be open through September 30, 2012. The online registration includes payment of the entry fee of $25 USD.
The events will take place October 5-7, 2012 with the following schedule:
Friday, Oct. 5: Registered teams will check in at the Kick Off where a list of elements that each team must include in their film will be received. They will be released by 7pm to go make their film. Location is the Mix Marketplace, 200 W. Michigan Avenue, Ypsilanti, MI.
Saturday, Oct 6: Teams will deliver their completed films 24 hours later to the Mix Marketplace (by 7pm).
Sunday, Oct. 7: A yet-to-determined number of finalists including the award winners selected by the judges will be shown in a public screening; in addition, after the screenings, a Peoples Choice award will be announced after a vote by the audience in attendance at the screening. Locations for the screening is the Riverside Arts Center at 76 N. Huron St., Ypsilanti, MI. (time TBA)
